We invite you to read on for some tips for making the most of our time together during your Architectural Review Service. Our goal is to maximize the function and flow of your home so you can enjoy your home building experience with confidence and ease.

MEET THE CARRIER DESIGN CO. TEAM
JuliAnne Kelly, Owner & Principal Designer

My construction background started with a few renovations and quickly moved to new builds. After making selections for over 40 high end homes in Atlantic Beach Florida, I was hooked.
My favorite part of the design process is when we add an unexpected element that ends up becoming one of the most loved parts of the home. It's a joy seeing all of the designs come together and watching our clients enjoy the spaces we have helped to create.
When I'm not designing, you'll find me spending time with my husband and our two girls. We love to travel, and I find so much inspiration from coastal landscapes and architecture. We're always dreaming up our next project together, whether it's a unique rental property or a flip house.

Allison Carrier, Designer & Project Manager
I earned my degree in Interior Architecture at Samford University. I consider myself a perfectionist and have knowledge in all the complicated design programs.
​
My favorite part of the design process is problem solving. I love reworking floorplans so they function and flow properly. It's so satisfying to create beautiful and livable spaces that meet my clients' needs.
​
Outside of work you can find me taking my Golden Retriever (Hope) to the beach. I also love gardening and trying new recipes, traveling, and spending time at my family's home in Islamorada.
THE ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW PROCESS
Beautiful spaces take time to create and it is critical to get the foundation right from the start. Once your home has been permitted and construction has begun, it can be expensive or impossible to make additional changes. As we work together, we'll consider the overall aesthetic, your personal taste, and the functional aspect of each decision and selection.

01 | ONBOARDING
​
During the Onboarding Process, we'll review your design questionnaire, inspiration photos, build plans, and any materials you've already selected.
i) Please complete your questionnaire by clicking the button below:

ii) Please email a copy of your plans to sherry@carrierdesignco.com so we can print them to review during your service.
Once we receive your items, we'll schedule your Kickoff Meeting. During this meeting, we'll review everything in detail and discuss function and flow. This meeting is typically 2 hours.

02 | ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW
​
During the next phase of the process, our team will review your blueprints in depth, making suggestions, changes, and revisions to the existing plans. We'll discuss feasibility with your builder and/or architect, and make any final adjustments before sharing them with you.
​
During your Architectural Review presentation, we'll walk through the changes and share the reasoning behind them, as well as provide supporting images to give you visual clarity. We'll fine tune the changes based on your feedback and provide your build team with the information they need to update the plans, if needed.
03 | MATERIAL SELECTIONS
During the Material Selections Phase, we'll provide up to ten hours of material selections and recommendations so you can establish a project budget with your builder. You'll have an opportunity to provide feedback on the selections so we can make any adjustments as needed.

04 | SPECIFICATIONS LOOKBOOK
​
Once the selections have been approved, we'll prepare your customized Material Selection Guide that you can easily hand over to your builder so they know exactly what we recommend to bring your design to life. You'll receive a printed Material Selection Guide as well as a digital file, and both will include installation instructions, drawings, images, and specific ordering instructions.
PROJECT GUIDELINES
PROJECT TIMELINE
Once your service has begun, our Architectural Review service typically takes approximately 4 weeks. ​

SOURCING TO-THE-TRADE ITEMS
Quality is important and we'll source from your builder's preferred vendors for a majority of the build materials. If we source lighting, mirrors, and wallpaper, we'll use our trusted to-the-trade sources and take care of ordering, tracking, and coordinating delivery. Payment for orders placed through Carrier Design Co is due in full prior to order placement. In the event of a backordered or discontinued item, we will notify you immediately and provide alternate selections if necessary.

REVISIONS
After your Architectural Review Presentation and your Materials Selection Presentation, you'll have three days to request revisions. We'll make any revisions and update your presentation for final sign off. Additional revisions or revisions received after the three days will be billed at $250/hour, if we can accommodate them.
​
COMMUNICATION
Communication is key to navigating such an important part of the build process and designing a home you'll love forever.
We'll use email to communicate and provide updates on your project and our office manager Sherry will be your point of contact for any questions related to your project so you always know who to reach out to.
